Wine & Food Festival
London’s wine and street food festival
Wine, Food & Live Entertainment
A celebration of wine and food from around the world, bringing people together for an unforgettable experience.
Where’s this come from?
During the Summer of 2020, the Chiswick Festival team invented a new, pioneering Covid Secure Event concept – where we successfully delivered evenings of jazz, opera, and rock to comedy and bingo nights. We staged 21 nights of entertainment and safely entertained over 5,000 visitors – making us one of the few event organisers safely hosting Covid Secure Events.
Lots of last years visitors have asked us to do something again, and one of the visitors suggested we did food and wines from around the world – which we loved.
This, coupled with various wineries who we’ve got talking to, and what with Jonathan, one of the founders, who attended the Amsterdam Wine Festival 5 years ago and saw how great an event this was has resulted in what’s becoming the London Wine Festival. Taking the stuffiness and snobbery out of drinking wine, with great street food and live music.
What’s This All About?
Over the course of an extended long weekend in September, The London Wine Festival is planning to offer Londoners, tourists and anyone who enjoys great experiences, the opportunity to taste wines from independent wineries and enjoy food from independent street food stalls, in surroundings where they will be able to sit back, relax and indulge. With a great atmosphere created by live music, some great entertainment to include things like crushing grapes with your feet and Pétanque, we’ll be bringing people together to unite, have fun and create some awesome memories.
The event will be a ticketed event, where a ticket will allow entry for one person for a “session”.
Each session is a 5-hour block, with 20-30+ wineries from around the world offering tastings of their wine and then selling wines by the glass and bottle for people to enjoy, whilst enjoying an array of food from independent street food stands, all supported with entertainment ranging from “how to” make wine (yes we’ll get people to crush wine in buckets!), to games such as Pétanque, and live music played by bands and DJ’s, all with the aim to help keep everyone engaged and enjoying a great event.
Dates.
Being a new event, we’d like to give ourselves 2-3 days leeway with the set-up, to ensure everything is looking good.
IDEAL DATES
This could also be the weekend after or an alternative date in Sept / Oct.

Numbers.
This is really based on the capacity of the venue.
,Chiswick Festival – due to Covid, we were capped at 500; and sold out.
Rough Runner, Jonathan’s previous business, we drove 10,000 attendees and 3,000+ spectators to 8 events a year across the UK.
So we’re limited really by the size of the venue/structures and we’re happy to work with the venue on this.
We would love ideally 1,000 to be able to attend; but if we’re told we can only run this for 500 we can review the offering and costs. If we’re told we can do 1000 that’s great; more than 2,000 may be a little high given this is the first, inaugural event. However there are others out there who believe this is easily doable!
Licensing etc.
Being license holders and very well versed in managing the Safety Advisory Group & all stakeholders, we will ensure all the relevant paperwork is due diligently completed for any TEN’s or Premises Licenses required, and we have all the right paperwork in place.
A Basic Visualisation Of The Event
This CAD is presently based on using Chiswick House and Gardens, and as an outdoor event. For an indoor event, the concept of various stands, seating areas, areas for games like Pétanque, a stage for DJ’s and Bands to play remains the same.
Upon a new venue being sourced, this will be updated.
This is purely for basic visualisation of the concept.
Creating memories to unite and bring people together.
